Five Minute Friday: See

Yep... it is Friday again- which means time for another Five Minute Friday. In just five minutes you write whatever comes to mind when you see the word that Gypsy Mama posts. It actually is kind of fun and helps me to see that maybe (just maybe) I do have a creative bone in my body;)

So here goes... SEE!!!

Did you see Mama??? Did you??? Where you looking???

As a Mama of 8 (7 in my arms and one in the arms of Jesus), I am always being asked if I saw something. Sometimes I am able to tell them that whatever they had accomplished was truly amazing... other times I am too busy doing whatever life (or one of their siblings) has thrown at me.

It seems like every day my kiddos are passing another 'huge' milestone... Mama, did you see me I rode my bike??? Mommy, did you see that all of my numbers are going the right way??? Mama, did you see what I did??? Mommy, did you see that I helped my sister/brother??? I LOVE her/him!!! I want to be able to rejoice with my kids in all of their accomplishments and because of that I need to make sure that my eyes are wide open... SEEING!!!

Miniature Volcanos

Today the girls made Miniature Volcanoes (Thanks to an idea from Pinterest!!!). All you do is sprinkle a baking sheet with baking soda and give your kiddos bowls of vinegar that have been dyed and medicine droppers.

The girls had an 'explosively' good time;)

The weather has been great lately... and today it was HOT. Hot enough for sprinklers!!!

Five Minute Friday: Opportunity

As I was looking at my sister's blog I found that she was doing this thing called 5 Minute Friday (a word is chosen and you only have 5 minutes to write about that word)... normally I would leave the creative thing to my sister but I am beginning to see, as I challenge my children in their lessons, that I too need to be challenged- so here is my Five Minute Friday 'creativity' and "ramblings" on the word Opportunity;)

Opportunity...

As a mom and a teacher I always think about all the moments I have lost, the opportunities squandered, the times that I have just completely failed my children, my husband, myself and others.

I think about the times that I could have gone a little more in-depth... and taught my girls a little better because I went that extra mile.

I think about the times that I could have ended our lessons a little earlier because the sun only shines so much up here in Wisconsin during the LONG winter months... but yet I keep them going because I can't seems to shake my TO DO list!!!

I think about all the opportunities that I have missed to show Jesus to my children but because I was busy being me and not letting him shine through me... I failed.

Hopefully tomorrow (and today) I will take hold of the opportunities!!!!

Yep... some days we get a little tired;)
